Day 13!

Panther Lake!
One of my top three favorite places ever. The other two consists
of Charleston, South Carolina and Boulder, Colorado.

I've been going to this place since I'm twelve, and I still love it just the
same. There's not much to do there other than explore and go to my not-
so-secret secret rock, but I think that's the best part about the place.

So last year at Panther Lake Dan and I must have caught like
fifteen fish on this dock. Mind you all we had was some old bread
and a net. The best part about it...we annoyed the guy at the end
of the dock who had actual fishing gear. He wasn't as successful
as us. This year however, we were the unsuccessful ones, only
catching one fish :/

You know what I love about being on a boat...saying
I'M ON A BOAT! lol

Day 12!

After the slight complications of rain and bad forecasting,
Dan and I decided to go to Cheesequake Park today for
some picture taking and trail walking.

In total we saw about seven deer. Which is pretty exciting,
being that we went to the park in the early afternoon, I didn't
even think we'd see one. This is the closest I've ever gotten to
a deer. They're so beautiful.

Did you know Jersey could be so pretty? I did...

I wish I had wings :)

The little bit of random...

For some reason I can't sleep. It's a summer thing I assume,
because this happens every summer. Sporadically there will
be nights I lay awake, not tired enough to sleep but too tired
to do anything productive. Of all the nights that this could
happen though, I think tonight was well chosen. Nickelodeon
is playing a marathon of Rocko's Modern Life and I have to
admit I'm excited!

I just finished watching the Fish-N- Chumps episode and it
just makes me laugh. I don't know which is better, Crappie Jack
the pirate, or the face on this worm lol.
I miss 90's cartoons, there's simply nothing better.
Next episode..."Turn the page, wash your hands..."
I love how my family still quotes Rocko's Modern Life.

Day 10!

"In summer we can taste the rain."

Finally got a little bit of rain to make the yard green again.

Day 9!

Yet another trip to Kennedy Park.

Like I just said in my post before, there are more things at this
park than one would realize. I'm not exactly sure what kind of
bird this is, but I keep calling it a crane. This is one of few
that randomly show up at the park. In total, I think Dan and I
have seen three different kinds. This one, a black one and one
twice this one's size. They're really beautiful. This is probably
the closest we've gotten to any of the cranes. We tried to stay
as quiet as we could, to get as close as we could...

But as you can see, he's not one for photos. And left as soon
we crunched too loud on the gravel : (

Day 8!

This is just too impossible to see what it is. I wasn't able to use
my fancy camera nor was I able to use my not-so-fancy regular
camera, I had to use my junky camera phone. So this is a
terrible picture of a crayfish. And I find it crazy that Dan and
I found this guy in Kennedy Park. Yes they are freshwater crustaceans,
but this was at Kennedy Park?! I'm starting to wonder what's not at
that park.... Red Pandas? Got 'em. Hippopotamuses? Got 'em.
Abominable Snow Monster? Got it. Okay, not really lol...but we do have
random animals there that you wouldn't even realize.
It was strange when we found him too, he wasn't even coming
from the water, but the other direction. Walking down the path that goes
along the lake, we see this rather large looking bug walking under the
light of a lamp post. And being the girl that I am, I screamed. From a
distance it looked like a gigantic spider. Not only that, the lights went
out, and we couldn't see a thing and stepping on something that huge
just wouldn't be pretty. Anyways, Dan picked the guy up and we realized
he was a crayfish, and found it weird he wasn't closer to the water. I wanted
to take a better picture of him, so Dan attempted to carry him to the car
so I could get my camera. But the crayfish just wouldn't have it. Not to kill
him or traumatize him any further, Dan put him back in the lake.

Day 7!

So this afternoon I went to see Eclipse with my mom.
And because I saw Eclipse, I decided to do a Twilight
themed display. I made this bracelet about two years
ago when I first read the Twilight books. I made one for
me and one for my little sister. When I gave it to her,
I remembered saying that I bet that they'll merchandise
similar bracelets when the movie hits theaters. I guess
I was right, because a couple of weeks ago my sister texted
me to let me know that Hot Topic was selling bracelets
pretty similar to the one I had made her.
I love fashion forecasting! lol
