Day 26!

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery...

Hi, my name is Kira and I am addicted to buying weird shoes.

Okay, I'm sure people own stranger shoes than these, but still some of mine are kinda interesting.

Day 25!

AC day 3!
The saddest day : (

All in all AC was awesome. We didn't do too much, but it was just good to be away from home, socializing with random people and playing slots. AC even in the winter is still jumping. We watched people get escorted out, we watched the sweat drip down the guys at the poker tables, we watched the drunk girls try to walk in stilettos, we were put on the guest list at the Casbah, we had several drinks offered to be bought for us, though we didn't take any, we tripled our money at one point! Seriously started at $1 and ended with $3.08, but then we gambled it, and lost it again. Anddd what happens in AC doesn't always stay in AC, we may or may not have stole a small bottle or two of jelly off a room service cart near our door. lol

Here are two photos of the lobby, you can't take pictures of the casino itself.

Day 24!

AC day 2!

Not sure why I did this, probably because I've been taking pictures of the sunrise since the days of watching it by the Verrazano Bridge...so in 20 degree weather, I decided to get up early to take photos on the beach. I wasn't the only crazy out there doing it, surprisingly.
The pictures were well worth it.

More corny pictures...in the bathroom!
See, a bench in the shower.

This next photo is my favorite. The two of us are broke, and I mean really broke. Not from gambling or anything, though that did eat our money away, we just don't have much. So to save money, Heather and I decided that we would buy food from PathMark. We seriously ate pepperoni and cheese sandwiches, pistachios, tomato and mozzarella salads and seven layer cakes for two days. It was awesome.

Creepy, the mannequins in Bally's were soo creepy. I'm swearing they were once people, like House of Wax style! Btw I'm blowing a kiss to the donkey.

After this photo, we called it a night. We were spotted by two people at street level, two people we kinda were avoiding lol.

You put a mirror in the elevator, and you know this is going to happen...

-"Not sure if you know this about me, but I don't wear pants."

Day 23!

AC day 1!

Kinda crazy, at random my mom decided to surprise my sister and I with an early Christmas gift. She sent us to Atlantic City for two nights. It was pretty awesome, I had never been there before. She booked us at Caesar's and oh my goodness was it the nicest hotel I had ever stayed at! It was soo pretty and it was sooo cool I couldn't believe it. When we check in we were told they upgraded our room free of charge and we were on the very top floor. The view was beautiful!

So Caesar's is ridiculously huge. It has a two floor casino, restaurants everywhere and these florida room tunnels that connected you to the pier shops and the parking garage. Being that the place was so huge and Heather and I are so oblivious (though I seriously thought I was being observant) we lost the car in the immense parking lot. I swear we were on floor two, but the elevator buttons started on 4? Being so confused, and after the valet guys saw us clueless and circling again and again, we were eventually escorted around until we got to the car. After finally getting our stuff to bring to the room, the first order of business was to hook up my iPod to the stereo and have a dance party!
Normally I wouldn't dance in the window, but being we were on the 44th floor, I didn't really care lol.
Next order of business was to take corny pictures in the bathroom! The bathroom was so nuts. It was two rooms, there was a tv in the mirror, the shower was huge, stone and had a bench and there was a phone next to the toilet. Though to be completely honest I find that weird, and a bit gross lol.

The beds might have been one of the best parts of the hotel. I have never slept on a fluffier bed. It made me just want to sleep the entire time there. There was also an over abudence of pillows, in which Heather and I decided to make forts out of. This photo clearly shows my fort building skills are beyond superior to most.

Day 22!

Ah how do I let this happen? Well over a month has gone passed! So terrible...
Anyways I thought today was a very important day and deserved recognition. Okay it's really not that important but I'd like to think so. Today I (willingly) had a bowl of cereal in an actual bowl. Like I said, not that important lol. For some reason whenever I eat cereal (for breakfast/lunch/dinner/3 am munchies) I eat it out of a cup. I'm convinced it just tastes better this way, though I know it can't be true but I'd like to think so. Well at home today we just switched our dishes to our holiday dishes! I looove seasonal dishes and that is why I decided I would eat out of a bowl like a normal person.

Not really sure where my seasonal dish obsession came from but isn't it cooler to eat your Kix out of a snowman bowl than your regular china? Again, I'd like to think so. The whole eating cereal out of a cup thing...I think I might have to blame my grandmother for that one. When I was little she used to make me scrambled eggs but only gave them to me in a bowl as opposed to a normal plate. Kinda backwards here aren't I? So cereal in cups and eggs in bowls. For the record though, I don't drink out of a plate, 'cause you know it's impossible and all lol.

Day 21!

Halloween!

For the third year in a row, Dan and I went to the city
for Halloween. And for the third year in a row we went
for no reason. But it was cool, we got Poptart sushi, which
might be the best thing on earth and then for dinner we had
Thai food, which runs a close second.

The picture above was taken after our long, absolutely freezing evening,
on the train back home. Dan was Allen from "The Hangover" and I was a
Woodland Fairy. It was ridiculous how many people actually thought Dan
was carrying a real baby.

Here are just some pics my mom and brother took of us.

And here is Scout, wearing my back up wings. He makes
an adorable fairy, doesn't he?

Day 20!

Almost the entire spectrum.
Red, orange, yellow, green and blue.

I wish the leaves stayed like this year round, it's so pretty.

Day 19!

Monday through Thursday I get on a super early 5:34 AM train into NYC.
All in the name of an education lol. I honestly thought I'd get used to it, since
I've been getting up at 3 am since August 23rd, but no not a chance. My brain
hardly functions in the morning, and here is my proof...
As it usually happens on the train, if I'm lucky enough to find a seat to myself,
it doesn't stay mine for long. It's kinda expected that you'll be sharing a seat,
which kinda sucks, but it happens. Thursday, a girl with long dark hair came
and sat next to me. Which was cool and all until she fell asleep. The girl was
out within three minutes, snoring. She leaned her head forward where her hair
covered her entire face, and then slowly started leaning towards me. Honestly it
was creepy. Not for the fact that I thought she was soon going to fall into me, but
because I couldn't help but think she looked like the chick from The Ring. For
some reason I was feeling brave and I snapped a quick photo of her on my phone
to show Dan. I think about it now and I wonder..what would I have done
if she awoke and caught me? I blame it on the early morning, and the lack of sleep.
Picture does no justice to her creepiness.

Day 18!

While taking photos for my Color and Design class I saw a rainbow.
Really it was three in one day. So awesome.

Day 17!

Currently I'm taking a Graphic Design class at LIM and for our final
we have to come up with a company and brand it.
Still in the early stages of it, I decided to use my Talbert dolls as my company.
When I first started my Talberts they were super simple, but for class I've been
doing a little bit more to them, kinda like a Build-a-Bear. I still have way more
to make, but here are the few I have.

Pirate.
Mermaid
White Rabbit
Fairy
Day of the dead.

The need to work on them a bit more, but for class they should do.

Day 16!

Finally uploaded my family vacation photos. Seriously took me long enough.
After searching, I did find a decent amount of photos that I thought
had went with my hard drive. Unfortunately not all of them, or anything else
I had lost, but it's better than nothing. So nearly three months later,
here are a few vaca photos from Portsmouth, New Hampshire
and York, Maine. I wish I lived in Maine, it's beyond beautiful there.

The power lines kill this photo lol.

And here are a few pics my mom took of us. She always knows how to
catch us at our most flattering moments...

My sister and I looking for hermit crab shells for Dan

Joseph, Heather and I. Not a clue what we were looking at.

Weirdest photo ever lol.

The little bit of random...

Just when you think things can't get any worse...they do.

My baby Brandy passed last night. We knew she was sick, but
we didn't expect this to happen so sudden. Other than her
hacking she didn't act sick or old or anything at all. She barked
all day yesterday, ran around, and tried to eat the mouse, as she
would do everyday. It's a shock and it's hard to believe, so things
quite honestly suck at my house right now. My other dog Scout
seems to know something is up, searching the house for Brandy,
he's been a mush. What kills me too is that all my recent
Brandy photos are on my broken hard drive. This is the only one
I have, until I look through my flash drives maybe.

The worst was this morning when I opened my fridge door.
I didn't hear her paws on the tiles or her collar jingle, sounds
that went hand and hand with the fridge or freezer opening, it
really got to me.

When I was younger and would come home from school, my grandma
would always say, "That dog can tell time. She knows exactly when
you are supposed to come home. She waits at the front door, every day
at the same time, for you."
Since my grandma said that to me, it has always reminded me of these
Count the Stars lyrics...
"This is for the one, that waits till I get home."

*Always the most excited one to see me come home.
xoxo My Brandy.

The little bit of random...

Yeah I know, I haven't updated this in nearly a month. I do
have my excuses though. This month = the month from hell.
Just completely busy with life, and things going wrong has
slightly overwhelmed me. As an example, practically all
pictures that I had been meaning to post here are all gone.
My old Macbook died, no joke two seconds after I
decided I needed to finally transfer my old stuff over to the
new Mac. Obviously I wasn't fast enough. So when I'm done
crying over all of my missing stuff, including writing,
portfolios, homework, and 1000's of pictures, I'll update this
thing. Until then I continue to self-loathe for not backing up my
data lol.

Day 15!

For some reason I found this tiny bug on the windowsill at work
to be adorable. I couldn't figure if he was hanging out there, looking out
on Route 9 reflecting on life or he was listening to our new work cd.

I think it was the new cd. I have to admit I miss the old cd
but listening to Bowie, Billy Idol, Cheap Trick and
The Beach Boys...pretty good, no?

Day 14!

A few years ago I made a small fairy door to hang in the living room
I decided to make a new one since the old one was slightly falling apart.

Not so smart on my part, this one is like ten times bigger than the
original. Too heavy for the wall, I kinda have to find a new place
for it lol. It didn't really come out how I wanted it to, but I'm supposed
to make another one for a friend, so we'll see if that one is any better.

Day 13!

Panther Lake!
One of my top three favorite places ever. The other two consists
of Charleston, South Carolina and Boulder, Colorado.

I've been going to this place since I'm twelve, and I still love it just the
same. There's not much to do there other than explore and go to my not-
so-secret secret rock, but I think that's the best part about the place.

So last year at Panther Lake Dan and I must have caught like
fifteen fish on this dock. Mind you all we had was some old bread
and a net. The best part about it...we annoyed the guy at the end
of the dock who had actual fishing gear. He wasn't as successful
as us. This year however, we were the unsuccessful ones, only
catching one fish :/

You know what I love about being on a boat...saying
I'M ON A BOAT! lol
