Day 38!

"The world has gone insane, we've lost our brains"
Joe of Patent Pending!

This is probably the coolest dude on the face of the earth, hands down, no argument, don't even bother trying because I'm pretty sure a million people would agree with me as well and you and your argument will fail. Miserably. Just saying lol.

So the last Patent Pending show I went to, I bought a Juicebox hoodie. Juicebox is Joe's awesome clothing company. When I got home I realized that the silkscreening stuff spread into the inside of the hoodie and messed it up. Upset, it wasn't that big of a deal. When I went to see them last night I wanted to tell Joe about it, just so he would know to check the rest of them. He felt so awful he gave me a new hoodie for free. Wouldn't even take the money from me. I promised I would bring him the original back next time, but he didn't seem to really care lol. I'm thinking either a Patent Pending or Juicebox themed Talbert is a must for the next time I see them.

When Joe said they were about to play Decemberween, Dan and I looked at each other in shock. One, they neverrrr play this song anymore and two, my brother didn't show up to the show and we knew he would die to know they played this. This is just a clip of the song. I cut it short because Rachael put her arm around me when Joe said to, and I didn't realize it and I almost dropped my camera lol. I love how you can hear her contagious laugh at the end of the video. Also when they say Fritz, that's the kid the show was for. It was his birthday. An awesome birthday I must say, I was envious of him, a birthday of a bunch of bands playing? Way awesome.

By the way, you should definitely check out Patent Pending and Juicebox clothing. Patent Pending is truly awesome, and Juicebox is ridiculously cool as well.

Day 36!

SNOW DAY!

This has been the snowiest winter in the longest time.
And as long as school is cancelled/NJ Transit is running, I'm loving it!

On a normal Thursday I'd be up around 3:15 AM to get myself on a 5:30 train, heading to school. Last night I was up way later than I should have been, and was looking at about three hours or so of sleep. Yeah, I kinda slept through four alarms and woke up at 7. Thank goodness I saw this out my window as well as a text on my phone from LIM saying classes were cancelled lol.

I think Scoutie had the right idea about today. Sleeping in. He cuddled himself up in about three of my blankets and would not get up.

Day 35!

Well Rachael's blog seems to be catching on. lol

Penn Station had these all over the place.

Yeahhhh I know, this advertising campaign did come first...but we can pretend.

The little bit of random...

Blogs are contagious...or so I'd like to think. After looking at my blog (though I can't figure out why mine influenced her, it's not all that great in the slightest), Rachael decided to start her own blog. I kinda sorta really love the theme for it, "__ __, with love". It's pretty cute and you should definitely check it out, it's called "Rachael's blog, with love", it seems to be promising, http://rachaell-taylor.blogspot.com/

The little bit of random...

Oh man, oh man! So a little while ago I posted random photos of various odd shoes I own. One being a pair of neon yellow, leopard Creepers. I got them for my birthday from my mom and when I asked for them she thought it was a joke, but no I definitely wanted them. I mean who else would have a pair of neon Creepers like these? Apparently this guy would!

I happened to be on Webster Hall's website and saw this, immediately I had to show my mom. Her thoughts..."So now there are two people in the world with those ugly shoes."lol.
I'm thinking I need to get the pink and white zebra Creepers now. Or possibly the purple leopard Creeper sneakers. We'll see.

Day 33!

For some reason there's a pink ribbon on a tree in my back yard. I'm hoping it's only marked because the town is coming in to trim it's branches, as they do every once in a while, because they hit the power lines above. But the ribbon just makes me assume that the tree is coming down, and if that's the case, I'll be super upset.

The tree might not be an oak, and the ribbon might not be yellow, but every time I leave the house and see the tree a certain song comes to mind..."Tie a yellow pink ribbon 'round the ole oak tree."

I love the fact we actually have snow this year. When school begins though, I know I'm going to be dreading every snow storm.

Day 32!

Another slumber party with Rachael and Blake. It's going to suck when Blake goes back home : (

This time our girls night became a "Debbie Downer" for various reasons, which all seemed to be related to the same subject. Errrrr to that. As a pick me up we had a close-to-midnight run to Wendy's for frosties and fries. The perfect fast food combo. And to add to the mix, ghetto music blasting in the car, with Rachael's remix... "green and purple, green and purple, green and purple."

Zombie boots, striped tights, old cheerleading uniform, with my plaid jacket....and I'm a fashion student??

Slowly but surely Rachael may be succeeding in this changing of me. I left the house like this...willingly. Apparently we have Blake in on this changing of me as well. I'm in hopes she'll stop calling me an old person soon. lol

Day 31!

Not to sure if I should really consider this day 31, but since it was after 11:59 pm, I'll take it.

Sometimes when you least expect it you have more fun than planned. Hyper/delirious off of a good show, brownies and probably sleep deprivation, Rachael, Blake and I had a last minute slumber party in my overly cramped living room. It of course was awesome. Our night consisted of saying the most ridiculous things, or really mishearing the most ridiculous things and then not being able to stop laughing. I'd like to blame that on Rachael, her laugh is possibly contagious.

I brought almost every blanket from my room down to the living room, and if it wasn't for the fact I needed one of them, Rachael probably would have slept like this.

"He is a dude, right?" "I'm half cat." "You want my peas?" "Oh no I knocked over Nazareth...That's the nativity scene." "I think I just had an epiphany."

Day 30!

"It's the ups and downs of living life this way."

Sometimes there are people too amazing for words. The guys of Patent Pending are some of those people. Not only do they put on killer shows, they talk to their fans and are super personal. And as they do at every show, without preaching, they put out a meaningful message. Before singing "One Less Heart to Break" Joe, the singer, had this amazing speech about suicide. Basically what he said was, if you know someone depressed, taking five minutes to talk to them could save their life and if you're that someone depressed, you're not alone. Also if you need someone to talk to, there are five guys on that stage that will help you with anything.  I feel if other bands said this as often as these guys did, it would make the biggest difference. It was heavy no doubt, but it was good.

One of the best parts about the show... on stage Joe looks down and points at me and goes "Hey, I haven't seen you in awhile! How are you!?" I don't understand, with all their fans how do they remember them all? It kinda sorta really made my day lol

"We can all live in happiness...and this is it!"

Day 29!

It's snowing out...again!

Not really sure why, but when I got home from work today I had to shovel the drive way. Only a coating had fallen, but I don't question the reasoning because of that. I question the point of shoveling when we own a snow blower! Just don't get it. Well anyways, I was told to shovel and you can't expect me to go out in the snow and not play in it. So in the middle of shoveling I decided to fall to the ground and make a snow angel. When I was done I signed my masterpiece and continued to shovel around it lol.   Kinda silly to do that when a foot or so is going to fall, and by morning my snow angel will be long gone. I suppose I'll just have to make more.

The little bit of random...

This is a video from last night of TSL's new song. Slightly slow for them, but I don't care too much. I'm just in hopes that this new song means a new album is on its way. Fingers crossed.

After the original date was postponed due to snow, last night I finally got to see The Starting Line. It was absolutely amazing! To be honest there hasn't been a time where they weren't amazing and I've seen them about nine times or so. So you can't expect anything else but amazingness from them lol. As a whole the show was pretty killer. The crowd wasn't filled with teenie boppers (though I did give up my easy-to-see-the-stage spot on the steps to a ten year old boy). The supporting bands, Such Gold and Hit the Lights were way awesome too. The only thing that was eh was TSL didn't play much of their old stuff, which was upsetting/surprising. But after playing "Surprise, Surprise" and "This Ride", how could I complain?
So in my last post I listed things I learned from hanging out with Rachael. I'm making a new list..

Things Rachael learned from me, after seeing TSL:
1. You don't wear Uggs to a show.
2. It's not called a "T-shirt" table. It's a merch table and yup, everyone calls it that.
3. You don't wear Uggs to a show, just repeating it to stress it's importance.
4. There is at least a fifteen minute gap between bands.
5. Sometimes singers from other bands come on stage with the performing band, but it's cool.
6. Kira can be one of those show snobs, and she won't apologize for it.
7. If you want to get out of the cold and into the venue fast, pretend to be underage and go on the "Under 21" line.
8.  Oh and you don't wear Uggs to a show.

Day 28!

The last couple of days I've been hanging out with my BFF Rachael, because apparently I'm socially retarded and we need to change that. Cool with me... One thing we did this week was make a list. The two of us have this thing about making a list of stuff we want to do (on a canvas or plywood) and then marking them off as we go. Our last list was super long and we managed to get most of it done by the end of the summer. This time our list is a lot shorter, but seemingly more difficult. We want to open up a specialty bakery shop, as a back up plan if we both fail at life. So for now on we're supposed to be talking about business plans...yeah that lasted an hour..lol but it's cool we'll get back to it.

Things I've learned the last couple of days with Rachael:
1. Monday is a time of day.
2. I will never watch A Serbian Film.
3. Rachael will, at all costs, get me to leave the house, even if it includes pulling my hair.
4. Starbucks' passion fruit tea lemonade is nasty, but coincidentally is the same color pink I have in my hair.
5. Patron takes the edge off.
6. And lastly, after correctly spelling the word "bakery" twice, the third time was just too difficult. lol.

Day 27!

I decided to make myself a mushroom necklace.
I saw one super similar to it on etsy, and figured I could make the same, and a lot cheaper lol.
