Day 158!

The last day...

Today was the last day of my store being open. It was quite busy during the morning, then around 1:30, with three rounders of clothing all marked at $1 which is insane when our average priced shirt is about $54, a woman came in and bought all three rounders of clothing, approximately 200 pieces. So insane!

Also insane...I was a rebel. I wore my zombie shoes to work. Ooh man.

"Ain't it a shame we're so young and insane?"

Day 157!

Alien Ant Farm!!!!!
My favorite band for last 11 years did a free show in AC, and it was amazing!

I post a lot about shows that I see and awesome bands, but seriously there is no other band that I love more than AAF.

I tried soo hard to get decent photos at this show and it was nearly impossible.

This seriously was one of the best shows I've been to in such a long time. The crowd was pretty chill, the sound was awesome and it was Alien Ant Farm, need I say more?

Day 156!

I went to The Museum Of Natural History to check out their butterfly exhibit. Quite expensive, hot, and crowded like you wouldn't believe with kids trying to touch the butterflies as they got yelled at, it was well worth it just to have a butterfly land on my head.

I didn't get the greatest photos because there were so many people and my lens kept fogging up from the humidity, but I got a few.

I love this shot!

They're so beautiful.

Day 155!

Farewell cupcakes :(

Everyone at work is bringing in food as our days of working together become less and less. We're basically eating our sorrows away. Hey whatever works. I made carrot cake cupcakes (or is it just carrot cupcakes?) with cream cheese frosting. They were melting terribly by the time I got them to work, but still pretty delicious.

"It takes my pain away. Never mind these are hurried times. Oh oh oh. I can't let it bother me."

The little bit of random...

This is going to be a long one..

My weekend has been insane! Friday through Sunday has been so busy! Let's begin with Friday...after work Dan and I drove to PA to see a show, which as said before was amazing! After the show trying to drive home we got lost, don't we always? The thing is we wanted to get home asap because one of our favorite bands was competing in the Billboard battle of the bands and it was live streaming online. Getting home from PA before they performed was not happening, so with Dan's phone dying we plugged it into my computer and live streamed it from his phone. Back and forth it would freeze and cut off and we were freaking out. We literally just pulled up to my house and was able to see Patent Pending win! It was sooooooo awesome. It was about 2 am by the time we got to bed, which sucked only because we had a clean up at the park in the morning. Saturday now....we went to the clean up, which had a horrible turn out, but since the park was actually pretty clean, it wasn't so bad. Once that was done we went home to get ready for my friend's birthday. Which was at Park East, ughhh. If you don't know Park East, it's basically a guido bar, and I'm not really into bars, let alone guido bars. Luckily we stayed on the restaurant side and it was pretty cool just hanging out. After that, all fancied up, I must add we were terribly over dressed, we went for Cold Stone. So good! Here we go Sunday now... I went to work which was boring and frustrating at the same time. We have about 8 racks left of clothes so there's nothing to clean or really do, except get verbally abused by customers who don't understand why we don't have their size left in a top. Err. After work Dan and I had Patent Pending Billboard Music Award party! By Patent Pending winning the contest they won a chance to play a song live on the Billboard Awards, 12,000 there watching and 12 million at home. How ridiculously amazing is that?! So excited for them, Dan and I wore our Patent Pending shirts and ordered a pizza (of course lol) to watch it. They were the best performance of the night, hands down. Everyone should go vote for them on http://www.billboard.com/bbma/sundrop they deserve it.

How cool do we  look?  We were told we were lame, and yeah we are, but we're cool with it lol.

Day 154!

On our way to see Eve 6 and The Audition (which were amazing) in Pennsylvania, Dan and I stopped at a rest stop and saw this sign.

Going to be honest there are very very few things about Pennsylvania that makes me smile.  I mean other than Blake, Crocodile Rock, and The Starting Line being from there, I'm not too fond of anything about that place.

"This place is a prison."

Day 153!

It's nearing! Approximately 11 days left and my store will be closed! But it's really not a bad thing, let me explain...

When working at Ragshop, the last few days the store was opened, a lady threw a pen at me because she didn't like the sale prices I was telling her. As if I can help 60% off of $12 fabric being $4.80. I was 18 at the time and cried about it in the bathroom.

Now, just the other day a man came into my store and yelled at me about our return policy. Yelling to the point where he was spitting on my counter and I considered calling the police. Scary as it was I kept calm and didn't cry.

Growing up with each store closing!

"Well I guess this is growing up."

Day 152!

A special post for Patent Pending.

Hey guys!

Sorry I'm sending you to this page, but I didn't want to simply tweet you a photo of what I wanted to show you with little explanation. Hope you don't mind!

As a final for one of my classes I had to design then build a point of purchase display. Basically it's a display placed near the register for impulse buys. I had to pick a fun product that I really liked. I figured picking a CD would be cool and specifically your album Attack of the Awesome because it's one of my favorite albums and the art work is really cool.

So for my final that's exactly what I did, I made a point of purchase display for Attack of the Awesome...and it sings. There's a button on the astronaut and when you press him you hear a 15 second clip of Air Underneath My Feet. Also something pretty cool, mine was one of two chosen to be displayed at school. So basically there's a Patent Pending advertisement at the 5th Avenue building of my college. Pretty awesome! Anyways, I just wanted to show you guys how you inspired my final project (and got me an A). Thanks!

PS: Good luck at Battle of the Bands!!

Day 151!

Happy Mother's Day!

Since my mom has enough flowers, didn't want chocolate and a day of quiet at my house is kinda like a joke, for Mother's day I bought tickets for my mom and I to see Def Leppard and Poison!

This is 100 times better than the gift I got her for her birthday...Nickelback tickets. Ugh that was probably the worst gift in the history of gifts, but it's what she asked for.

"...and listening to 80's songs..."

The little bit of random...

She's ditching QXTs for fist pumping!

The bar my sister bartends at had their halfway to Halloween party not so long ago. And for some reason her and another bartender decided they would go Jersey shore themed. Clipping in hair extensions, covering herself in bronzer and buying a dress I'm swearing she actually stole from my aunt, Heather became The Opportunity. How amazingly awful lol. I will admit though, I am quite jealous of that tan.

So Heather, you saw Megadeth last weekend, but I assume with this new look you'll be hitting Karma this weekend, right?

"She's running with a whole new crowd..."

Day 150!

As my final project for Product Presentation, with a group of four others, I had to put together a large scale display with four vitrines all following our marketing campaign of Graphic Dynamic. Sounds fun and all until you are given your customer, style, medium and location. We had a conservative customer, our style was avant-garde, the medium was wood and our location of course had to be the one curved wall. Oh and did I mention our $200 budget? Could nothing be easy? Well our vitrines went fine, but our large scale display, yeah not so much. After presenting it we were asked to alter a few things that you couldn't deny were quite horrendous.

Buying new outfits, fixing the marketing, the floor, then lattice, Brittney and I spent about four hours adjusting the problems. Not ecstatic about the outcome however it's way better than what it was before. I hated that we failed the first time around with this. And we were so lucky to have another chance to fix it, that usually doesn't happen.

I wish the glare on the glass wasn't so bad so you could see the vitrines better. I actually really like how these came out.

This one was my favorite because from far away it kinda looked like an opitical illusion. Sorta like in Labyrinth when Sarah realizes theres a hidden entrance in the wall.

The three vitrines above are the ones I designed and put together, this bottom one wasn't me. The in store design of the bridge and main aisle was my idea, but not my photoshop work.

Our vitrines are in the second lobby of the 5th avenue building at school, and my group's displays are the first you see when walking up the steps, kinda sorta love that.

"Why don't you get it together now, failure's not flattering."

Day 149!

He makes doing laundry impossible.

Or maybe I'm too lazy to move him.

"Things are gonna be different now you see. And add to all this dirty laundry you left me."

Day 148!

Salem had her eyes fixed on this little guy, watching him from inside the house.

Little does she know those butterflies she chases in the yard once looked like this.

"Boy if you step outside inside you'll never make it."
